After being joined to Poland Katowice became a giant construction site. Being on the front line of propaganda next to the German border, the city was to become an example of Poland’s greatness. Supported by the capital coming from the industry the city began to grow and turned into a playground of the state’s best architects. The results of their work can be seen now on the Katowice path of modernism:
